Do I have to appear in person?
Remote and virtual hearing options across Ontario and BC.
Increasingly, no.
Ontario: Settlement conferences are presumptively remote (video) in most courthouses, and many trials proceed by video where appropriate. Filing is done online through the E-Filing portal.
BC: The CRT is online end-to-end. Provincial Court settlement conferences and many applications proceed by phone or video, with practices varying by registry.
